EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R1900 DRIVER SOFTWARE
The newest software for your Stylus Photo R1900 Inkjet. If the epson profiles are off as well that probably indicates the profile generation went ok.Even with high quality prints, this digital photo printer is still fast, with a max print speed of 1. Sadly this will waste some ink but one other reason that colors get thrown off occurs when the pigment particles manage to settle and the settled portion hits the printer first. Now the print is noticeably much bluer than the monitor. What is strange is that a b&w print on Epson Premium glossy matched my monitor very closely before the cyan change. The Epson tech had me delete the printer icon, reboot the computer and have the system reinstall the driver. Is it possible that there were clogged nozzles when you printed the test charts you sent?Īgain, it's possible though unlikely. Plus I make a print of some sort at a maximum of every five days. I did a nozzle check a week or so before I sent the profiles and everything checked out OK. When you change cartridges the printer effectively does a cleaning cycle by itself. The first thing to suspect unfortunately is that you might have had clogged cyan nozzles BEFORE the cartridge change. The color cast still exists.īefore this problem I had a great match between monitor and print under a D50 light source with my monitor at 5800K.
EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R1900 DRIVER MANUAL
I did an "auto nozzle check and cleaning" where the test patterns looked great and I did a manual "head cleaning". Out of curiousity, try out the OEM ilford profiles again with a small test print and see if they are working better now. I usually just reboot both my computer and that printer and it clears up. Occasionally it suddenly goes into this strange magenta surge mode where a lot more magenta is printed than desired even with perfect nozzle checks, etc. The second possibility is an oddity I've observed a few times on my old 2200. Is that a possibility? Is it possible that there were clogged nozzles when you printed the test charts you sent? Glad you were enjoying the profile! Its too bad that you ran into this cartridge problem. I believe once it was cyan and the second time magenta. When I printed out the test pattern before cleaning you could see the problem. Both times after trying all kinds of things, I went through a cleaning cycle and everything worked fine. Twice I have gotten strange color casts after changing cartridges. Epson asked that I send it to them and they sent a replacement. However, once I had a cartridge that worked for awhile and then did not. Richard, I have the 1900 and have had problems with 3 cartridges -usually when changing them to a new one. Eegads, I hope I don't regret my Epson purchase. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought it might be a bad cyan formula though it would have to be REALLY bad. After 1 hour with them, they're sending me a replacement printer as mine is only 5 months old. Argghhh!Īfter banging my head against the wall for the next 40 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong, I finally called Epson. So I printed another print of the same image and sure enough, my b&w print had a bluish cast. But when the printing resumed and the print was ejected I noticed a strong bluish tint to the half of the print printed with the new cyan cartridge. Luckily the new cartridge was recognized. I had an extra one available so I just replaced it knowing Epson would send me a new one. So I took the cartridge out and cleaned the contacts twice, reseated it and got the same error. I got the dreaded Epson error message indicating my 1/4 filled genuine Epson cyan ink cartridge was an incompatable one. I was getting beautiful prints from neutral b&w images. I was having a wonderful day, rejoicing over a custom profile made by xilvar for Ilford Galerie Gold Fiber SIlk.
